Peony Sunday

Materials: Peony, wild berry branch, spider ward leaves.
Container: ceramic vase.
Bring a container and scissors,  arranging and enjoyed the beautiful blooms from Eleanor Tickner's 4 acre peony gardens with three thousands of peony plants. First, I want to thank Ms.Eleanor so kind to open her peony garden to Ikebana Philadelphia chapter. It was a drizzling day, not too many members attended but we enjoyed the warmest hospitality of Ms. Eleanor. She provided three bucket of peonies and cut the flowers from field accoding to our wish.   She sprayed alcohol on scissors before cutting the flower in order to prevent transmission of disease from plant to plant..  (5-19-13)

Container: Ceramic vase(self  made)

Material: Dried branch, tulip
Container: Ceramic vase (self  made)

Today,  Easter Sunday,  is the day that the son of God rose from the dead centuries ago for mankind.  Easter is about his resurrection.   It,s a day that reminds us of what happened, what he did for us.
We had a joined service with another Grace Church, the congregations of which to celebrate together Easter Sunday and enjoyed  potluck dinner thereafter.
I used Palm leaves, left over from Palm Sunday to arrange small arrangement for dinner tables. (3-31-2013)

I was volunteering to hostess at the Philadelphia flower show Monday, March 4 for Ikebana International Philadelphia chapter.   The program "Make and Take Room" at the show of "Floral Hat"  provided by PHS was so pretty.  I enjoyed the beautiful scene of the lady with floral hat walking around in the English Garden.  It was indeed, a great pleasure.
